The Criss Cross Hungarian Stitch is a textured filling stitched worked in rows of diagonal stitches, with each row facing the opposite direction.

A second color of stitching is used in the resulting spaces between the rows. This is the perfect area to use a specialty thread such as a metallic, or to add a seed bead.

This needlepoint stitch is an excellent filling stitch.
