The areas of the stitch framing the center stitch are worked similarly to Reversed Scotch Stitch, as they are composed of grouped straight stitches facing different directions.
Work the first group of stitches by following items 1 through 10, working from lower left to upper right. Repeat for the next group, working in the opposite direction from lower right to upper left.
Work the center upright cross by following items 11 through 14 in a secondary color.
