The Parisian stitches are a small filling stitch with alternating stitches- one short, one long, one short, etc.
To create a Parisian, stitch a short stitch over two canvas threads as shown, A to B, then another stitch over four canvas threads as shown C to D.
At the end of a row, work in the opposite direction. The new row stitches should be formed so that the tops of the short stitches use the same canvas holes as the longer stitches at their base. This will interlock each row with closely spaced stitching.
