The Jacquard Stitch

Needlepoint Stitch Library

By: Tracy R. Lambert
Stitch Overview:

The Jacquard stitch is a variation of the Byzantine stitch, however, rows are spaced by one mesh to be filled with Continental tent stitches.

Stitch Formation :

Begin by bringing your needle up at A, cross the number of intersection points as directed by your pattern and take needle back down through canvas at B.

The Jacquard stitch is worked in rows from the bottom of the canvas up. When you ready the end of a row, completely turn the canvas around to work the next row of stitching.
