The Horizontal Cashmere Stitch

Needlepoint Stitch Library

By: Tracy R. Lambert

Stitch Overview:

Cashmere stitches are similar to the mosaic stitch- 4 stitch units create a rectangular block on the canvas. These stitches are great for background work and can be done horizontally or diagonally.

Stitch Formation:

To work a Cashmere stitch horizontally, you will complete 4 stitches- one tent stitch (A to B- each over one mesh of canvas), two long stitches (C to D, and E to F- each over two meshes of canvas) and then one more tent stitch (G to H- over one mesh of canvas).
