The Satin Stitch is worked by stitch across multiple threads on a needlepoint canvas, creating a large, smooth, satiny area - hence its name.

Satin Stitich can be used anywhere on a needlepoint needlepoint canvas to make an element stand out, or to highlight desired areas in a project.

You can experiment with Satin Stitch in the French Braid pattern, where the stitch is used to enhance the impact of the design.
