I'm sure that there are few who would not agree that it's just fun to stitch little bunnies at Easter, trees at Christmas, ghosts at Halloween, and hearts on Valentine's day. Sometimes, it's nice to stitch a quick pattern for a new mom, a homemade gift of love to a family member far away, or a simple gift for a bride and groom. If you are looking for a needlepoint pattern, chances are, it is for a special occasion, and this is where you should look. For almost any holiday, and a variety of other special events, these patterns are simple and festive and set the mood for any special time during the year.

Needlework is also an excellent way to spend good quality time with a child in your life. How many times have you seen something special stitched long ago and wondered how it was made? There are so many skills, especially needlework, that are not being passed down to younger generations. If future generations are to know how to do these things, we must teach them. Teaching a child to stitch is an excellent way to share your love of needlepoint but working with children can bring it's share of challenges. Look here for teaching ideas, tips and kid friendly patterns and projects for a special child you know.
