The Details: It's time for the bi-annual Excellence in Needle Arts AwardsPincushions 2008, presented by PieceWork magazine. Complete details are available at this link.
This year's categories include: cross-stitch, needlepoint, crochet, knitting, lacemaking, tatting, quilting, and embroidery. Also introduced is a new category- "Next Generation Embroider", sponsored by Sublime Stitching.
Who Can Enter? : The main contest is open to all individuals, "Next Generation Embroider" is only open to persons ages 15-25 and these entries must include embroidery.
The Excellence in Needle Arts Awards is open to all United States citizens, with international exceptions granted.
Deadlines: Pincushions must be postmarked no later than March 1, 2008.
Judging : Entries will be judged by the editors of PieceWork Magazine.
Exhibits: The juried pieces will be exhibited at The National NeedleArt Associations (TNNA) June 2008 trade show in Columbus, Ohio. In addition, winning pieces will be pictured in a 2008 issue of PieceWork.
Prizes: Grand prize is $500 and each first-place winner of each category will receive $200 worth of product from the categorys sponsor. The first-place winners will also be displayed at the June 2008 TNNA trade show in Columbus, Ohio.
