A New Hank

Working with larger skeins and hanks of needlepoint yarns can be a tanglesome affair. Here is a technique that will tame the savage beast and help keep your workbasket tidy.

We'll start with a large, 20-gram hank of tapestry wool that would typically be purchased for a large background area.

To help keep things tidy, we're going to make full use of the band that is wrapped around the skein. If there is no band, you an easily substitute a band of scrap paper taped in place.

Do not use a rubber band! Rubber bands grab onto the yarn and make pulling the yarn difficult!
