American Needlepoint Guild (ANG)

The American Needlework Guild (ANG) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the art of needlepoint. Membership is open to all stitchers, regardless of skill level, and provides educational opportunities in the form of workshops, a yearly seminar, and support for local ANG needlepoint chapters. While the main focus of the ANG is needlepoint, cross stitchers or "any counted or free stitchery worked by hand with a threaded needle on a readily countable ground" may join the guild. The ANG currently boasts over 9,000 members in the United States and Canada.

The ANG offers workshops by mail, online classes known as Cyber Workshops, video and slide programs. The majority of their educational opportunities in the form of correspondence courses.

Members may also participate in advanced training programs including the:

    • Master Teacher Program
    • Judging Certification Program
    • Master Needle Artist Program
    • Needlearts Appraisal Program.

The ANG also publishes the Needle Pointers Magazine 6 times yearly, which is available only through membership in the guild. Other member benefits include discussion lists, community service projects, and ANG merchandise.

Members of tha ANG can search for and join local ANG Chapters in their area. Members are also encouraged to start their own local chapters. Most chapters are located near major metropolitan areas in the United States and Canada. A Member At-Large program is available to those who are not located near an existing chapter.
