This design is worked in just 4 colors of tapestry wool, including 3 shades of Viennese blue. It was inspired by, and gets its name from, an antique delftware plate from the Austria, the birthplace of the Blue Danube written by Johann Strauss II.
Stitch the patterned floral areas in continental stitch and the background area in basketweave stitch.
