Leaf Quartet Pattern is Finished - and Posted!

From Cheryl Fall, About.com GuideSeptember 13, 2010

In a previous blog, I shared a photo of a project in my frame. I am happy to report that the Leaf Quartet project is now finished!

The project is a highly-textured pattern of leaves worked in groups of 4 in long stitch, continental stitch, and slanted gobelin in opposite directions to give the project movement and texture. A large cross stitch is worked in center of each leaf cluster.

It's worked in 7 colors of DMC tapestry wool on 10-count penelope canvas.

The finished size is approximately 12.5 x 12.5 inches, and is worked on Zweigart 10-count penelope canvas.

Because this project is a bit complicated, I have included close-ups of the stitching, as well as stitch details to make it easier to follow.

By the way... even though this project took me several months to complete, it actually works up quickly using long, lengthy stitches, and it can be completed in time for the Autumn holidays.

Enjoy!
