This week I'm stitching in Paradise!
Hubby had business to attend to in Hawaii, and being a dutiful (make that opportunistic) wife, I have tagged along.
This is my first trip to Honolulu, the largest city on the Island of Oahu. Despite its large size, the city is very friendly and it's easy to get around.
Yesterday I had a day to myself and walked to a local needlework shop called Needlepoint Etc., run by "Gussie" Schubert.
Each time I visit a shop - whether in another state or another country - I like to purchase a canvas or kit designed locally. On this visit, I chose a kit featuring a colorful hibuscus design, reminiscent of Hawaiian-style quilting.
You can see the project in progress in the photo - naturally I had to dive in and start stitching!
The kit came complete with a pre-finished pouch, threads and needle - perfect for the travelling stitcher!
