Pineapple Project

From Cheryl Fall, About.com Guide   January 13, 2010

If you are following along with the Needlepoint Stitch Journal entries and are intrigued by the Pineapple Stitch, a new project has been posted that's perfect for experimenting with this highly textured stitch.

The Pineapple Pattern features a stitch diagram to guide you through the stitching process, as well as a standard chart for those who prefer to stick to tent stitches.

Enjoy!

Really enjoying printing the stitch journal because the first working page gives such a nice picture of what the stitch actually looks like, which helps me choose where I want to stitch something. My problem with the Stitch Journal Page though is it is too small, and the blue print is too faint to read for my old eyes. Maybe black print would show up more.

Hi everyone.
Printing from the site can be tricky at times. If you are attempting to print the journal page by printing the instructions, you will end up with an under-sized page that is difficult to read when printed. Therefore, be sure to print the actual journal page individually by double-clicking the image of the page. This will bring up a full-size page.
Also, you may need to adjust your printer settings, as each printer is unique.
Information in printing the stitch journal pages can also be found in the hyperlink of the page featuring the journal graphic.

I also have a problem with the blue-ink writing showing up. I am double clicking on the stitch-journal page and printing it in the larger size, but that blue writing does not show up well. Please use black in the future. Thanks.

Unfortunately, everyone’s printer is different, and the blue ink is showing up perfectly in 90% of cases. I have had at least 15 gals print the pages, and the blue is fine. I’m wondering if you are having a scaling issue, or your printer is defaulting to an ink-saving mode.

Because these journal pages are ready to post, no adjustments to the ink color will be made at this time.

I have added a printing tutorial to the basic instructions: http://needlepoint.about.com/od/stitchdiagrams/ss/StitchJournalBasics.htm

The tutorial for printing is here: http://needlepoint.about.com/od/stitchdiagrams/ss/StitchJournalBasics_2.htm

You can also print a blank journal page and add your own personal notes if you would prefer. The blank page is here: http://needlepoint.about.com/od/freechartsandprojects/ss/BlankJournal.htm

I wish I could do more to help, but it sounds like the issue is printer-based.

Unfortunately, I do not have one of each make and model of printer for testing, nor do I know how to adjust the settings on every type of printer. I have done my best to provide some material that could help you.

Thank you for sharing your issue with me. If I come across any other solutions, I will let you know.
