New Petite Four Patterns Added

Monday October 19, 2009

For those of you who have been stitching the cute little Halloween Petite Four or Birthday Petite Four patterns, I've added a Christmas Tree (shown) and Hanukkah Dreidel version, just in time for the holidays.

Tip: Place several needlepoint Petite Fours worked in different colors under a glass dessert dome, or add a loop of ribbon for hanging and it's ready for the tree!

Christmas Tree Needlepoint Petite Four Pattern
How do you recommend joining the sides of this piece? Inside out for 3 sides? How do you prevent fraying of the canvas? Thanks so much!

It is similar to assembling a box. I trimmed my canvas down to have 4 rows of holes extending beyond the edges of the stitching. Then stitched the small side seams first, followed by the two short bottom ends. I stuffed the item through the remaining side (the long side of the bottom) and then stitched it last. Note: the photo for the blog does NOT include the bottom due to space considerations, but the pattern does include it.
